Meet Mrs. Lor

Dearest 1st Grade families:

My name is Mary An Lor and I am so thrilled to announce that this will be my first year as an Elementary Teacher! The remainder of this school year is going to be an explosion of learning for both my students and myself. I am so excited and cannot wait to get to know your child!!!

In case you would like to know about my background…I grew up in Sacramento, California. After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from with a minor in Criminal Justice from CSU, Sacramento, I briefly served as a Guest Teacher in North Dakota and California while earning my Credentials and Master’s degree in Education with a Specialization in Best Practices from National University. During my time as a guest teacher, I have worked with students from various grade levels at multiple schools within various school districts. Shortly after guest teaching, I worked in a 1st grade and 4th grade classroom. I currently hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an English Language Learner Authorization and two Supplementary Authorizations. My husband and I love cooking, camping, and traveling together. We have three boys; Hanson, Jake, and Eugene, and we have two lovely pet turtles;Master Oogway and Shelly. We have been a military family for 15 years!

In the midst of the current Pandemic situation, our physical classroom is closed. However, in my virtual classroom, I will work endlessly to keep learning as fun as possible for your child. Learning activities will be presented through various modalities to keep them engaged, and in particular, to promote academic thinking and skills. In my classroom, we will practice kindness, personal responsibility, and collaboration! Together, we will accomplish our goals!

If you have any questions at all through the remainder of the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me at lormaryan916@gmail.com or via phone at (916) 644-0611.

Best,

Mrs. Lor
